Hello all, I'm new to the shack so this is my first post. I have a Niles 1000 watt digital Pro15SW Stage Front subwoofer that has failed. The unit is out of warranty and they have discontinued this product. I'm assuming the amp has failed. All I get is a low frequency static hum when the unit is on and signal supplied. Can anyone recommend a replacement amplifier plate for this unit. I originally paid $800 for this subwoofer Thanks

How much do you want to spend?

I dont know for sure but I am going to guess that the amplifier probably puts out 500rms. Secondly you would have to modify your cabinet to fit anything else. There is a new MiniDSP plate amp that puts out 640 watts bridged for about $375. That also has a built in EQ so you can adjust everything according to your room. More power than that I would look at Hypex or just use a Inuke pro audio amp with DSP. Or without depending on your setup and EQ abilities.

Thank you for the info. I had a chance to look at the Behinger iNuke amp and the MiniDSP and like the idea of a stand alone iNuke unit. Currently all my home theater components are shelf mounted in a room 50 feet away from the TV and Speakers so my cable runs are about 50 feet, including the coax cable to the subwoofer. Since I'm currently using a single coax cable and the LFE input on the sub, I'm concerned about using the same wiring config with a standalone unit like the iNuke. Can I still use the LFE config (single cable from receiver to sub) with the iNuke? Thanks

IF using a pro audio amp you just need to run the Lfe cable to the power amp input. Then run your speaker cables to your subwoofer. BUt in its current state you can not run the speaker wiring to your plate amp the way it is.

Thank you. I was hoping to somehow use the current coax run to the speaker and avoid running 50 feet of speaker wire from the amp to the speaker. Thanks again for your input, its greatly appreciated.

I spent a little more time looking at the iNuke 1000DSP and like the price and DSP features. I'm just a little concerned with the hookup and connectors. As previously mentioned, I want to use the LFE cable with RCA connector from my receiver but the iNuke has XLR and 1/4'' TRS combination input connectors. I have not used these type of connectors for home audio and video. Any thoughts on how I can adapted this to use with my LFE and connector configuration? Thank you

Thank you, I am familiar with the adapter to get me from the RCA to TS. I'm also looking at the speaker out on the iNuke and it looks like it requires professional speaker cables and connectors. My subwoofer uses standard RCA and wire connectors. Any thoughts. Thank you
