I have an unfinished basement, an average projector and want to make a screen to hang over the white plastic insulation walls. I'm also surrounding this home theater area with painters drop cloths and buying blackout fabric for the window. My question is.... what do I make my screen out of? It will be a little less than 9 feet wide and about 52 inches tall. I am a total novice and plan to just hang the projector wherever It seems to need to be based on when it fills the screen. ??? I read that I can just make a screen out of blackout fabric but it seems like you are all painting something else.... I can't find any basic info posts... sorry! Please help!

I've been doing a lot of reading on here, I've been planning on my first DIY and is really torn between using a screen material or painting the wall as well.

Here's a very simple and quite detailed basic level video on how to make your own projector screen with minimum budget. I personally like the result a lot. Totally worth the effort.
