Hi
I had considerable success in time and phase aligning in REW, particularly in aligning wrapped and unwrapped phase at the crossover points.
What is really interesting is the taking of measurements at three distances - 1 meter, 2 meters and 3 meters from the speakers and evaluating the sound, not at the listening position but in a variety of positions around the house
I generated three time align results (near, middle and far) all of which react differently with the room.
By adding +/- 0:01 ms nudges around each measure result I eventually honed in on a setting which seemed to magically react with the room , caused the speakers to virtually disappear and produced a consistently satisfying result in all parts of the house.
There is no way that I could have reached this point without measurement.
What is happening here with time alignment and room effect?
Interesting link here.
