Hi all.
Now that the Alpine is done (box has to be finished yet) the next project is underway.
A pair of RF Punch HX2 RFD 1212's each in there own 3.9^ft box tuned to 21hz.
Boxes: 43.25 High 16 Wide 16 Deep Ported out the top.
Voice coils wired in series, (8+8 ohm's) then parallel to net 4 ohm's.
I have not decided on an amp yet, maybe a Bash 500 or an HPSA500 from CSS.

RFD 1212:
Dual 4 ohm
FS 26hz
Voice Coil Dia. 3"
XMax 14mm
Force Factor (BL) 12Tm QTS .48

Build pic's to follow.
Dave.

Some build pic's showing the box shell taking shape, and shots of the top, middle brace and lower brace.

Blocks on the bottom are for the feet (or spikes, whichever I use) inserts, so I don't have worry about sealing them, drilled from the bottom, 1 inch into 1.5 inch material.
The rectangle hole is the cut out for the port, 80x185 mm insde dimension, 31 long, 3/4 inch round over on both ends. ( Hint. Black paint mark, in the top photo, on the left panel is the port dimension)
More pic's to follow.
Dave.

Well.
One built and test run:heehee:
Better than I expected, serious extension, no mud of boom, just bass weight and heft (with music), and this driven off of my Cerwin Vega plate amp (150rms) (cant use the Bash 300, family watchings movies)and who know's what HPF is in it.
Bass I Love You has real power (moving things in the kitchen cabinet).
My audio stand is sand filled, on spikes, good isolation and I had to hold my CD player in my hands to keep it from skipping:eek:
I guess I will have to build the mate and see what kind of damage I can do.
Might be kind of scary with a good amp behind them.
I will keep you all posted.
I was going to post pic's, but it is just a rectangle mdf box, and we all have seen those, so why waste space.
When I decide on a finish (possible Cherry veneer), and complete that I will post pic's.
Later.
Dave.

Hi Mike.
I guess I should check my wording.:innocent:
I meant the HPF in the Cerwin Vega, and yes my Bash is stock at 17.7.
If I can, I will try the Bash on it tomorrow night, I know it has more grit than the Cerwin Vega by the way the Alpine sounded.
Working the night shift again?

Later.
Dave.

Hey Dave,

I have the same subs and also was planning on building twin ported cabinets.

Plan to power them with a Hafler 500.

Think I'll go with a round port to keep it simple (my first ported box).

Thanks for the help,
Mike
