Have worked with a local installer to update a theater of a house I recently moved into. It's set up for a ceiling mounted projector (Epson 6020). There's an existing Cat5 cable and component cables running from the projector to the component rack. The Installer utilized the Cat5 cable through HDMI Baluns (Atlona). After an hour of watching a game the screen goes black for 10-15 seconds. I recently changed out a Pioneer Elite SC-77 and replaced it with a Marantz 7008 because I was told Pioneer Receivers are not compatible with Baluns. The Marantz is having the same issue but for only 2-3 seconds. Any suggestions???

Your Elite receiver is compatible with a balun. Does your balun have an eq adjustment, or is it a newer HDBaseT type? You might try bypassing the receivers and go directly from source to projector through the hdmi balun to see if there is still a problem. I own a home theater store and have used a very similar combination before with no problems.
