Hi there,

I need some urgent advice...

I am doing a dual opposite 18" sealed diy sub and I was looking at Maelstrom's but decided on FI Q18's as they were a bit cheaper but looking at WinISD last night I noticed that the QTC for the FI's were 0.95 and the Maelstroms are 0.65. Which is going to be better.

cheers

The Fi Q's are a larger box driver. The Mal-X's are better suited to smaller airspaces in sealed enclosures.

Yea.... you have to define better. It depends on what you want. Just looking at a system Q is sometimes not all that meaningful either. You should probably model both, consider box size and any possible EQ and keep room gain in mind. That approach gives you a bigger picture of what is happening and will let you make a more informed choice.
