Hello all...apologies for this probably stupid question, but can i take readings without the use of an external spl meter?? I dont have one and i am very keen to get some measurements. theres definately some strange things going on i my room!

How can you measure sound without something that can get it into the computer? You need a mic of some sort.

You have to have an SPL meter for REW's initial calibration. Otherwise the program has no idea where 75 dB is, for instance. Fortunately you can also use its mic to get frequency response readings up to ~3000 Hz. If you need accuracy beyond that point, you'll need additional equipment.
