I am new to this aspect of Audio EQ. While I have set up my HT using Audyssey EQ XT I would like to control the bass region more tightly.

I already have a RS SPL meter, so would these hardware additions be OK ?

a) DSP 1124
b) Beringer UCA 202 USB Sound card

Both avail from Parts Express

Alternate Sound Card : Creative SB X-fi 5.31

I will also need various adapters which I will purchase from Monoprice.

I would like your comments before I go and purchase them

I will be using a Toshiba Laptop with Vista OS

Thanks

To make sure I buy the correct cable from Monoprice for the BFD ... Is it XLR Male to RCA or XLR Female to RCA. TKs

If you're talking about for the BFD, you don't need any XLR cables. RCA to 1/4" mono (TS) will do.

Wayne
Yes , BFD. Also I assume I get the mono not the stereo 1/4 to RCA. I hope to find 1/4" to RCA female to avoid another coupler !

I have read the instructions for REW but unclear at which point the RS SPL meter Correction file is to be added to REW . Surely it must be incorporated befor any measurements are taken.Tks

That would be in the Mic/Meter tab of the Settings. Use Browse to select the file wherever you have downloaded it to your system.
