Look in the log files to see if any error messages have been recorded, they are in the REW folder of your home directory - the location is shown in the Help -> About REW box.

 

It seems there are plenty of errors but, honestly I can not get any clue of what it's written. Shall I proceed with a full unistall?

 

Please attach some of the log files with error information here so I can take a look at them, could also be useful to attach a measurement that shows the problem. You can try installing the beta 7 (previous) version to see if that helps, it is available from the same place as beta 8.

 

John it seems that new measurements, after the reinstallment are working fine, without problems - I tried without any sound card connected. Anyway, I post the last problematic session with only 2 measurements (keeping the file small). Thanks for your support.

Thanks, I haven't been able to see any problems using that mdat file. Are you still using beta 8?

If you recall what you were doing when you had the original problem, please let me know (just deleted a measurement? Changing ETC smoothing?)

 

Oh...It could be anything of what you mentioned. The initial mdat file had more measurements but I deleted them in order to be able to post it to the forum. When I ran back to the 7 beta version, corrupted file still had the same problem. When I'm loading older measurements everything is fine. The only thing I'm sure of is that I was adjusting the ETC smoothing to 1ms for each curve. It would be nice too if in the viewing preferences we would be able to choose ETC smoothing time, so as not to re-adjust it for each measurement...

Thanks Harry - I think I have an idea what causes this - can you confirm that the decimal delimiter you use is ',' and not '.', so you would have (for example) "1,0 ms" for 1ms?

 

John I can confirm that in Windows settings "," is used as the decimal delimiter. When I'm running REW though, "." appears as delimeter.

 

If you change windows to use "." you may find the problem is avoided, but I'll put the fix in the next release.
