I've had a Pioneer VSX-40 for the past 2 years. I currently have no video or audio output to the TV using HDMI cables. I have a cable box, PS3 and a WD media player connected at all times. Yesterday, I purchased a Roku player and had issues powering it on. During troubleshooting the Roku player, my receiver stopped working.
There is a blinking HDMI light on the receiver and I was able to connect my PS3 directly to the TV using the same HDMI that goes from the receiver to the TV.
I'm not sure if the Roku plays any part in this but I plugged in and unplugged the HDMI from the back of the roku, while it was connected to the receiver, multiple times.
